Two plants making the same product rarely make it the same way, and the difference is worth more than most improvement programmes. But raw comparison is meaningless: different vintages, different feedstock, different scale.
We normalise for what genuinely differs and compare what genuinely can be compared — energy per tonne, yield at a given grade, changeover time on a given format. Where a gap survives normalisation, it points at a practice that one site has and another does not.
The purpose is transfer, not ranking. A benchmark used to rank plants gets gamed within a quarter; one used to find and move a practice does not.
Two plants running the same process need different instrumentation, so we survey before we specify and specify before we price. Tell us about the facility and we will come back with a scope stating what is supplied and where our responsibility ends.
